Cail Daley

I’m an observational cosmologist studying gravitational lensing to map dark matter and constrain cosmology. My work spans the cosmic microwave background and optical galaxy surveys, and I’m a member of the Euclid, SPT-3G, and UNIONS collaborations. I’m currently a postdoc at CEA Paris-Saclay in the CosmoStat laboratory, funded by the TOSCA project, where I’m leading production of a 5,000 deg² tomographic shear catalogue from the UNIONS survey and a Euclid × SPT-3G cross-correlation paper.

For the last year I’ve done all of my research with agentic AI, and I’ve been thinking a lot about how to do agentic science in a way that’s more robust, more ambitious, and more enjoyable. As a core team member of Lightcone Research, I help build open-source tools for verifiable AI-mediated science. You can find more in the Almanacs.
